Causecast (www.causecast.com) is seeking a marketing intern for 3-6+ months for support with social media (primarily) and other marketing projects. This role reports to the Marketing Manager in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Online Research

  • Conference research - what events should we attend and what’s a priority?

  • Writing proposals for our executives to speak

  • Managing the company event calendar with relevant events to be aware of/attend

Social Media

  • Managing social media marketing campaigns to reach and engage our prospective and current customers

  • Handling day-to-day activities including:

    • Writing about relevant topics (see our blog for examples)

    • Monitoring, listen and respond to users while cultivating leads and sales

    • Conducting online advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions

    • Developing and expanding community and/or influencer outreach efforts

    • Analyzing key metrics and tweaking strategy as needed

    • Compiling reports for management showing results (ROI)

  • Becoming an advocate for the company - engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate on social media

  • Monitoring trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.

  • Analyzing campaigns and translating data into recommendations

  • Creating PR-related social media content as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Outstanding writer and communicator

  • Active on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+

  • Enthusiastic about building relationships with prospective and current customers

  • Interested in social impact/mission driven businesses, corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, and/or volunteering and philanthropy

  • Self-starter with the ability to take the lead and take guidance when necessary. (ie: creating/editing content and online reputation management)

  • Has great judgment to know what is important vs. what is urgent

Helpful but not required

  • Marketing/communications degree

  • Familiarity with HubSpot for content management

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop

  • Business experience, especially in marketing or sales

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area at fun coworking spaces (e.g. Impact Hub Oakland and other spaces in San Francisco or Berkeley) for about 20 hours a week. Compensation is $15-20/hr, based on experience ($15/hr students, $20/hr college graduates).
